Girls Know Tech
An Immersive Tech Experience
Campers explore, dream, and create in an environment just for girls.
Led by female instructors, campers begin the week working on LEGO® engineering and robotics projects from cats to thrill rides, and design two games using Scratch coding. Then, campers team up to create a stop-motion animation video, and learn about circuits & electronics through hands-on building and a DIY electronic craft bracelet.

What's Special about this Camp?

Robotics Engineering & Coding
Campers create a variety of LEGO WeDo robots while exploring sensors and mechanisms. Then, they program the movements and display of each robot, so students can see in a tangible way how their code creates action. Block code includes loops and if-then conditionals.

Coding Skills through Game Making
Campers design two fun games - a pet care computer game and a restaurant game. We use Scratch, a visual programming language, and teach about variables, loops, conditionals, and functions. Scratch is a great way to experiment with coding before moving on to text-based languages like Python.

Students team up to create a stop-motion short with LEGO® components and special effects software. Teams use an ipad® and learn about movie-making and editing.

Electronics and Maker Crafts
Campers explore circuits and electronics while creating a take-home wearable LED craft. This maker project teaches about electronic components and electricity flow, while also allowing for design creativity.
