Young students are introduced to the world of machines and vehicles using LEGOŽ technic pieces, including motors, battery packs and gears. Students build and test a crane, motorized train engine, car steering systems, and spinning amusement park rides.
Students work from instructions to design a new project each day, then customize them with personal touches. Projects are then tested by the builder, in which interesting discoveries are made: such as how gear size affects the speed of an amusement park ride, how interlocking bricks strengthen a car, how pulleys and cranks improve lifting, and similar learning.
Projects include:
Building an amusement park ride which uses gears to increase a machine's speed.
Building a motorized train engine with a motor, battery pack, wires, and pulleys.
Building a car which teaches how to create a steering system.
Building a working crane that shows how pulleys and cranks improve lifting.
Please Note: Students take home a CD containing a video of themselves with some projects and project building instructions.
STUDENTS DO NOT TAKE HOME THE LEGO PROJECTS OR PIECES.
