Introduction to Programming through Simulations and Game Play (Ages 13-16)
A fun way to learn programming. You will write instructions which operate on-screen robots, enabling them to complete a variety of tasks. You’ll start off learning the language and syntax to move robots and retrieve objects, and then advance through projects involving navigating through mazes, uncovering hidden surprises, and even robot racing. Each mission teaches a new skill or reinforces a newly learned one. By the end of the week, you will have written programs using loops, conditional statements, variables, and functions - all while having fun controlling on-screen missions!
The programming language used in this class is very close to JAVA and C#.
Students take home class notes, as well as a version of the software used in class so that they can continue creating programs and learning at home.
