Prerequisite: Any other TechKnowHow Game Design course or Age 11-14

Design a two-player game and a 3d racing game with features similar to those in professional versions. The two-player game will feature in-game maps, lots of action controls and power-ups, special effects, music, scoring, and split-screen play. The 3d racing game will feature arcade-style action with speed and performance controls. You will import code (similar to JAVA) to create 3D visuals and game play in the racing game.

Take home your games to play on a Windows-based PC at home (must have at least 16MB of video memory). Fee includes registered full version of the software.

Note: There is a $15 materials fee in addition to the tuition for this course. This enables students to take home a registered copy of the game design software so that they can continue to make games on a Windows-platform computer at home.

  • If a student has completed Game Design Maze and Scrolling Games: Yes, this class introduces two new
styles of games including a 3D type game. Students will learn how to incorporate special effects, use
variables, maps, and split-screens in their games.
  • If a student completed Game Design 2 last year: Yes, this class features two new types of games. Both
games introduce students to new features and game styles, including split-screen techniques, two player
controls, and variables for speed and braking.
  • If a student completed Game Design 3 last year: Yes, this class features two new types of games. Both
